Squanto’s interesting life

We discussed a little bit about Squanto’s important role in the success of the Plymouth settlement as well as s bit about Squanto’s interesting life in class recently.

He was kidnapped from his home and sent to Europe to be enslaved. While in Europe he gained his freedom and spent years trying to get back home. He made two more transatlantic voyages before finally getting back to his village only to find it deserted and his entire tribe dead of disease.  I looked for a good summary of his life and the best I could find came from Wikipedia which was pretty thorough.

Read it over when you get a chance, quite fascinating.
